Discovering the Kingdom NOW

Mission Statement

Mission Statement:

The mission of Temple Preschool is to minister to church families and families in the community by providing a Christian foundation for early childhood education.

The purpose of our school is to provide a Christian environment in which children can explore their world, socialize with their peers and discover that learning is FUN!  We are concerned about the nurturing of children in our own congregation as well as in the community.  We feel it is good stewardship to use our buildings and equipment fully for Christian education in a comprehensive program that provides social, physical, emotional and spiritual growth.

The Temple Preschool Program is designed to meet the individual needs of your preschool child.  Early childhood is a unique and important stage in a person’s life.  Our focus is on the development of happy children who are treasured for their individual differences, who are encouraged to learn to live and work together effectively.  Our conviction is that your child is also God’s child, and he/she must be nurtured and loved.

The Temple Preschool Program is viewed as a structured, yet flexible, learning experience for preschool children.  These learning experiences are designed to meet the needs of the total child.  We feel each child is a unique, individual human being with individual learning differences.  The basic objectives of the curriculum are planned to promote intellectual, social, emotional, physical and spiritual growth.  The staff works continually to update and improve a Christ-centered approach to teach preschoolers.  Each age group will have its own curriculum that is age-appropriate.  In addition to the curriculum guides, each teacher uses supplementary materials that enhance their teaching.  Bible thoughts and stories are a regular part of the program.  We want each of our children to know of God’s love for them as they grow.  We shall respect all children.  Our classrooms reflect a positive attitude in dealing with each child’s needs and behavior.  We encourage children to express themselves and their feelings in words as we guide them in their relationships with others.  We encourage active participation in the learning process since young children learn best by doing and by participating in hands-on projects and activities.
