Ways to serve in Realm Student Ministry

Small group leader: Wednesdays During School Year 6:00-7:15
I.  Call- To inspire a small group of students (same sex and grade) to seek,          know and love Jesus.

II.  Commitment
·  Minister to the needs of 5-8 students within a small group
·  Help create an environment of community, family, and encouragement within      a small group.
·  Follow-up on students’ needs throughout the week through letters,      phone      calls, or personal visitation.
·  Challenge small group students to grow in their faith by developing healthy      spiritual habits, such as prayer, and quiet times.
·  Meet with small group students outside of small group once a month. This is      our 10 to 1 policy. When you spend time with students outside of the small      group/church environment, it has the same effect as 10 small group      meetings or inside church events.

III.  Time Commitment Each Week
·  2-3 hours (including preparation for lesson)
·  One letter or phone call- 15 minutes

IV.  Character
·  “Students do not need super group leaders; they need real human beings      struggling responsibly in their commitment to carry out God’s call as His      children on this earth.”
·  Students need leaders who are pursuing an authentic and growing faith in      Christ.
·  Students need leaders who will pray and rely on God’s power and wisdom      to see, hear, and speak to them as Jesus would.
