Prayer Focus

The prayer focus allows us to pray for a specific ministry or event that is coming up at Temple.  We usually have a different prayer focus each week.  The Kingdom Prayer Team Members pray throughout the week for the prayer focus and then when they meet with their team, they pray as a group.  This is so important in the life of Temple Baptist Church and the various ministries we have here, to know that we have prayer coverage over each of these ministries or events throughout the year.  If you are not part of a prayer team, but would like to pray for the weekly focus, please print it out or use this online access to know what to pray about specifically.   Thank you for your interest in the prayer ministry at Temple Baptist Church.  If you have any questions, please call or email Jackie Puz at 252-633-3330 or jpuz@templebaptistnewbern.net

 Prayer Focus for 8/18/10:  Upward Ministry

Lord, we pray

• that You will encompass and embrace this ministry from start to finish with Your love, Your grace, and Your hedge of protection;
• that You will begin to soften the hearts and open the minds of all volunteers to serve this area's children in a capacity ranging from referee, coach, providing devotions, coordinator, scorekeeper, game-day help, or prayer warrior;
• for scholarships so trhat any child who desires to participate has the opportunity to play;
• for all the volunteers to be aware of the "God" moments and follow through these moments in faith, trust, and complete surrender;
• for all the coordinators and directors to help communicate the vision of Temple Baptist Church and of Upward; to help give them strength, clarity, and endurance, and to provide protection for them as we move into ministry together;
• that You will keep all players and volunteers safe;
• for lives to be influenced and changed for the Gospel of Jesus Christ, for it has the power to save;
• for the evaluation and registration teams as they plan, prepare, and help coordinate fair and balanced teams;
• that You will help us in training all coaches and referees and coordinators;
• that we work in harmony and unity together through Christ that our sole purposes are to reach children for Christ, to teach them the fundamentals of the game, and to have long-lasting impressions of fun and working together as a team as we build sportsmanship, character, and Christ-likeness in all the participants;
• that all the logistics will be worked out smoothly and effectively between Temple Baptist Church, Trinity UMC, and First Baptist Church;
• that the Awards Celebration and guest speaker will be fun, memorable, and effective.
