Five Purposes of Bible Fellowship Groups
- Interactive Bible Study
- Connection Through Fellowship
- Organization for Care
- Involvement in Ministry and Evangelism
- Growth Through Accountability
Each adult Bible Fellowship Group is viewed as a dynamic "church within the church."
Fellowship - We believe that community happens best in small groups. It is among these groups that one can enjoy the fellowship with others that contributes to their personal growth in the Kingdom.
Care - Bible Fellowship Groups are the primary care ministry of the church. All teachers, deacons and care group leaders are responsible to minister to their members. In the small group setting, care increases dramatically. Care group leaders are the first people to know when a need arises in the lives of the group's members, and they are able to act quickly because they are responsible for a small number of people. They are also able to act more decisively since personal relationship has been established.
Discipleship - Discipleship is more "caught" than "taught." In a small group, members observe the lives of other members. They know how "real" members are. They study the Bible together and share each other's cares and concerns. Individuals share more openly because of the smaller, closed-group atmosphere.
Accountability - Members are available for one another. Members are aware of one another's struggles and temptations; they commit to pray, listen and support as needed. They also ask difficult questions of one another; only to walk alongside one another. This level of interaction is only possible in one of our Bible Fellowship Groups.
