Discovering the Kingdom NOW
Temple Baptist Church

Karen Refugee Ministry

Temple Baptist Church is home to over 200 Karen refugees. Most have escaped from Burma to be somewhat free in camps in Thailand. Some have been in camps for over 20 years, some born there.

They worship with us during the 9 am service and hold a Karen service at 4 pm each Sunday.

There are a number of ways we help this beloved persecuted people. Donations of clothing, furniture, toys, and household items are always a blessing. How about teaching English or instructing a mom how to shop in America? Giving haircuts, or taking a family to the beach? Taking a child to play with yours, transportation to church or just loving a fellow believer who has no family here? We have Temple families who have "adopted" a refugee family.

Let your heart lead you. The possibilities are endless. But beware...once you meet them, your life will never be the same. They have taught us much more than we could ever teach them.
